Newb about Work

A newb or newbie generally confers an insult or someone who is a novice at something.  In this case however, Newb = my initials and B for Blog.  This blog happens to be about work.  My work.

This blog will be focused on posts that fall under the category of “life as a consultant”.  It will cover such things as software development in the business world, the latest developments in the latest technologies, and all things job related.  This is the professional side of my trip through life as it pertains to my career.  For those coming here and hoping to find my personal rants and raves visit me over at the Newb about Life blog.  Hopefully I’ve updated all the previous links to point to the correct one.

I couldn’t make a distinction between Blogger and WordPress as a host for my blog and I didn’t want to intermingle professional posts with my personal rants so I decided to utilize both sites.  WordPress seems to have more of a professional flare and following so Newb about Work is located here.

There were other options available like SharePoint blogs and SpecificTech blog X, but I didn’t want to be so narrowly focused.  Throughout my career I’ve been a great jack of all trades and I keep my mind open to the best solutions even if at certain points in time I’ve settled down in supporting a limited set of them.

Sogeti is also currently working towards incorporating more “Web 2.0″ (a buzzword, I know) features and I may just end up blogging within that framework.  Things haven’t solidified yet as to the specific blog content so I’m going to retain this one as well.
